MAKE section: Create your style of Sabah

Discover the culture of Malaysian batik and create your own wearable artwork.

Batik is a traditional textile art associated with Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and Malaysia. Its distinctive patterns are created through techniques that use wax and dyes to control how colours spread across fabric.

In Malaysia, batik has developed into a vibrant cultural art form, recognised for its floral motifs, natural inspirations, bold colours, and expressive designs.

More than decoration, batik reflects craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural identity passed through generations.

What happens when traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary creativity?

Join us for an immersive batik painting workshop where you will explore the history, cultural meaning, and artistic beauty of batik—while designing your very own batik-inspired canvas bag.

No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity and imagination.
